mg in calculator; drawing from old & new vial

What peptide mass do I use in a reconstitution calculator? If I learn through test reports that a batch of 30mg tirz is averaging a significantly different mass from labeled amount, do I assume my particular vial is that averaged number? Or, alternatively, are there known weights for the empty vials/caps so that I can subtract from my own scale reading of my particular vial? I’m staying at 2.5mg/week for as long as it continues to work, low-and-slow.

If I’m finishing off one reconstituted vial and I follow good sanitization procedures (esp alcohol-swabbing the vial tops before each draw), can I draw the remaining available amount from the older vial and then continue the draw from the next reconstituted vial with the same syringe? Or just math it out using two syringes to be safer?

1. Use either the nominal value (30mg), or you can use the averaged tested values (33.2mg for example). It's up to you. I always use the nominal and just take the extra as a little nudge in dose. You cannot weigh vials, empty, with powder, etc. and expect to get an accurate mg peptide content. There's absolutely NO way to do this, for a variety of reasons.

2. Sure, you can use the same syringe, but each time you stab a vial that needle gets a tiny bit duller. After two stabs, it might hurt going in. Three stabs, and no thanks...

For the second you want to minimize the risk of contaminating the new vial, that is higher if you access it with the same needle you used to draw from the old vial. What I would do is use a needle to measure how much you have left in the old vial (insert needle draw up with out removing needle and then inject back into the old vial). Figure out how much additional you need from the new vial. Use a new syringe to draw that up, then use that same syringe to draw up what is in the old vial.

Why are we overcomplicating this, use two needles, they are cheap.
