Hi everyone,
I was scrolling on Reddit when I came across a topic about healthy living.
That's were I found out about the existence of this forum and learned that there is more then Ozempic in this world!
I would like to introduce myself as a genuine ravebaddie. I am 40 years old, married with 2 kids and getting back in the rave scene. I like to dance to all kinds of Psytrance and Hard Techno.
I have been obese from the early age of 14. My classmates started eating other things then what they brought from home and I did the same. Unfortunately my metabolism is very very good in digesting alllll the calories from my food so I gained weight when my classmates didn't. Very frustrating.
This resulted in a struggle to maintain a healthy weight for all my life.
When I met my now husband about 12 years ago I was about 115kg and knew all sorts of diets and everything about nutrition. In the course of about 3 years my boyfriend saw me lose 30kg and gain it back again several times trying out different kind of diets with pills / homeopathic drops / fasting / Slim-Fast / illegal stuff.
This resulted in me becoming depressed when I was over 130kg and not able to ty my shoelaces myself anymore and my boyfriend had to do it for me. I cried every morning and night and told him to leave me to find a more fit girlfriend to have children with. He stayed ofcourse
He loves me despite my weight-issues and has never done anything but support my diets and trying to live a healthy life. He knows that his metabolism is completely different and has never had any big weight issues.
Because my body became a big problem for me in daily activities I went to my doctor and explained the situation.
This resulted in starting a process to have bariatric surgery.
After 1,5 years of psychological sessions, group sessions and a physical check I had my gastric sleeve surgery in December of 2016.
At my heaviest I was 143,5kg with a height of 176cm. BMI over 40...
In the following years after the surgery I lost 43kgs. It has been a life saver for me. And we were able to have 2 beautiful children and even got married!
But now in 2026 after 10 years of living with my 'tinier stomach' I struggle to lose more weight. I am currently 101kg and still obese.
My main concern is that my body has changed but my mind is still the same.
I still like to prepare food for family and friends and live a Bourgondic lifestyle.
I only wish my interest in eating would be less!
That's why I have joined this forum to know more about the possibilities in getting healthier and not be obese anymore.
It is a great dream for me to not be obese anymore and fit in a size L instead of an XL.
