Hi all,
I joined here as my last resort to address my weight issue.
I ma make it as concise as possible. I had a great weight loss in mid 20s with just eating less. Nothing else. I lost 110 lb in one year. Sound sweetright?
Well, after I got into a grad school I gained almost all of it back. Don't ask me why, who cares at this point. Anyways I decidedthat I could replicate my success again with added exercise.
Nope, didn't happen.
I got diagnosed with hashimotos and hypogonadism in 2021. Apparently these two combined make losing weight so much harder. since then I have been losing 20-30lb but would be stuck at that plateau for months and months. Going for more deficit would have made things worse with hypothyroidism.
Then I decided to try Zepbound. I paid $6000 out of pocket. I was one of the unlucky populations where it just...didn't work. Not a single lb shed even with exercise and deficit (though more moderate, per my endocrinologist's recommendation).
I was never one to touch a grey market drug, but now I am past 30 and feeling paranoid that I will never be healthy again. I just got diagnosed with a severe obstructive sleep apnea and fatty liver (though not showing any scarring thank god), and I can only imagine this would only get worse if I don't fix my weight issues, even if I have to take a questionable means.
So that's why I am here...like my profile name, this is my last resort, and if reta fails me...I don't know what I would do.
Thanks for reading my sob story
