Hi everyone — happy to be here and finally joining in.

I’m a 56 year old guy and have been on the heavier side literally my entire life. It’s been a long road with more ups and downs than I can count. I've probably lost and regained at least 1,000 pounds in my life. Back in 2003, I was 455 lbs and had an RNY gastric bypass. That surgery changed everything for me at the time — I lost about 220 pounds and settled into the 260s for nearly twenty years. After a lifetime of struggling with weight, that long stretch of stability felt like a blessing.

Then 2024 came along and things took a turn. My weight crept back up, faster than I wanted to admit, until I found myself staring at 335 lbs. That number rattled me. After all the work, after the surgery, after maintaining for so long… it was tough to swallow. I even got to the point where I was seriously considering revision surgery and wondering how I got myself back to such a high weight.

Before looking into revision surgery, I decided to try medication instead. I started self-pay Zepbound in December 2024, and that ended up changing the entire direction of my year. As of now, I’m down 87 pounds and feeling far more grounded and hopeful. I switched to a compounded version in early 2024 to help manage the costs, and now I’m looking for even more affordable long-term options — because this stuff adds up quickly, and it needs to be sustainable.

I’ve been at this weight-loss journey for decades, so I tend to take a realistic, steady approach. No magic answers, just trying to move forward and keep learning. I appreciate solid information, honest experiences, and a community that understands what it’s like to fight the same battle year after year.

Looking forward to sharing, learning, and keeping the momentum going.
