Was looking into people's experience with Semax recently. I myself have been using it for nearly 2 weeks now. I saw a few threads on Reddit where people mentioned somthing similar, ACD856. I know this is a nootropic but figured it could fit this discussion fourm since Semax acts similar to a nootropic. For those who dont know, ACD856 works on the BDNF receptors much like Selank.

Since this substance hasnt been mentioend on this fourm before, has anyone here tried it? I'd be very curious to know the effects especially when compared to somthign similar like Semax.

I haven't heard of it until now. I don't recall ever seeing anyone mention it since i have been on this forum.

Yeah from what I've read, it seems to be somewhat new. I think only a handfull of vendors carry it (not ones from this site).

It acts on trka trkb and trkc , not just trkb ( like bdnf ). It is definitely interesting and is a potential real drug, and is as far as I can tell still in active drug development having phase 1 studies for alzheimer's and preclinical studies for other indications including depression.

Despite the two phase 1 studies I do not think you can confidently regard it as safe to use, it had very high rates of headache, 1 person showed elevated amylase levels ( pancreas ) and one showed liver enzyme increases, but they were not sure this was due to the drug. It may also cause gastrointestinal effects. This was regarded as acceptable to go to phase 2 but is definitely not a no risk set of results. Doses used in the study were 10-90mg/day, doses in humans are not yet established. At the high end of that dose range a bit expensive 500mg/$33 usd.

Given its mode of action on 3 major brain chemical systems, it could have strong effects and I do not think the effects on the other receptors trka and trkc are as well understood, so it could have unexpected and significant adverse effects, it would be much safer to wait till the phase 2 results at least, given the results from the phase 1 studies were not squeaky clean, and its complex mode of action.

Yeah I think you may be right. This might just be one of those ones to wait for more testing/ information. It's so interesting though how new drugs, nootropics, peptides etc. are being created seemingly constantly.

I have used both and hear is my take on them. ACD does work well as a nootropic but should be stacked with others for best effects. I used TAK-653 along with it and it increased the effects quite a bit. I like Semax acetyl N amidate a lot better than just semax. It has a prounounced effect immediatly in a nasal spray and is much stronger than ACD even stacked with other nootropics. I use it daily with coffee in the morning and love the mental boost and clarity it provides. It is one of my favorite peptides. I also like selank acetyl N amidate in the evening to relax before sleep.

That's what people refer to as NA Selank and NA Semax yeah? I've seen those mentioned more than once but wasn't sure how much more pronounced the effects were. This is all very good information. Thanks.
