For insomnia, zopiclone seems popular from India, in the same Z-drug class as Ambien (non-benzo sedative-hypnotic). But the other version, Lunesta (eszopiclone), is also available from India and seems better:

Eszopiclone versus zopiclone in the treatment of insomnia - PMC

To determine the therapeutic effects of two selective GABA-A agonists, zopiclone and eszopiclone, in the treatment of insomnia. This study comprised a phase III, single-center, randomized, double-blind, double-dummy, parallel-group, non-inferiority ...

As with other Schedule IV controlled substances, I would not store them in my car, haha.

A Gemini-generated table for comparison:

Benzos are not really available from India, and it seems the same may be true of Ambien.

By the way, a heartburn medication from India that does not get enough attention is vonoprazan (advertised on TV here as Voqueza). Another surprise was that India also sells the diabetes medication Farxiga for cheap, made by the same brand-name manufacturer AstraZeneca. In India, it is sold as Forxiga. Same for a similar drug for Jardiance.

Great information. I appreciate your insight. I wanted to try M1 and M2 but I won't as my dad has skin cancer and I have had breast cancer. I have been on Ambien for years for sleep. (Since chemo treatments.) The Drs want to transition me over to trazodone. If that doesn't work, I may need to check into the marijuana gummy before bed. Again, I appreciate your insight. 🙂
If I could jump in and say, YES to trazodone. Have been using it for years with NO problems. The people I've read online having any issues with it aren't taking the right dose. Have your prescription made for 50mg, then cut in half and try starting with 25.

I can take it late at night and never wake up groggy. The people I've read having issues with it online have all started on a too high dose (100).
